Sumarry (Goodreads) :

If high school is all about social status, Indigo Blackwood has it made. Sure, her quirky mom owns an occult shop, and a nerd just won’t stop trying to be her friend, but Indie is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend and a social circle powerful enough to ruin everyone at school. Who wouldn’t want to be her?

Then a guy dies right before her eyes. And the dusty old family Bible her mom is freakishly possessive of is stolen. But it’s when a frustratingly sexy stranger named Bishop enters Indie’s world that she learns her destiny involves a lot more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn’t get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that’s seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, she’s a witch too.

Suddenly forced into a centuries-old war between witches and sorcerers, Indie’s about to uncover the many dark truths about her life—and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid

Big thanks to NetGalley and Random House for the wonderful ARCs
Okay, let’s make some things clear first. Eventhough this is an ARC’s review, I’m still giving my honest opinion. And since this is an ARC, I don’t want to give much spoiler.

Anyway, if there is a word to describe this book , I guess it would be wonderful! Yes, the book is very wonderful and I’m just so happy that I have the chance to read it months before the publish date. The writing is very light and very easy to read.

Well, at the beginning of the book , it doesn’t felt like a fantasy book, instead it felt more like a teenlit book. So if you read it and somehow feel the same way as I do, don’t drop the book! You are on the right genre, I promise you it will be amazing!

If somehow you feel that the teenage girl part is dominating, let me tell you something. Those teenlit additions are something that make the story special. You see, usually when a book tell  you about the double life that the main character has, it only tells you about the supernatural one. But this one, you can also experience their normal personal life. And those normal life is something that will help you to relate to the character more.

The more you turn the pages , the more you will get attach to the book. The plot will be more solid and the pace will be faster. More questions will be popping out. And before you realize it, you already fall in love with the book.

Besides the amazing plot, this book also has amazing characters.

Let’s star with the main characters, Indigo or Indie, for short. Usually the heroines are introduced as a socially invisible girl. But Indigo, she was introduced as a popular girl with upside down in her social life. Indigo isn’t the rebelious-Katniss-Everdeen kind of girl nor the nowadays-tomboy-streotype kind of girl, but she is equally kick ass. She has her own feminime charm that somehow can make you love her and relate to her.
Next, the hottie of the book. Seriously, he’s hot. The name is Bishop. His personality is like the combination of Jace Wayland’s and Usui Takumi’s from the Maid Sama manga, which is why you’re going to love him. In a matter of fact, I think he is my favorite character. He is one of the reasons for you to keep turning the pages just because you want to know him better. I think he is that kind of character that makes the book more interesting.

Well, I guess that’s wrap everything. I cant wait for the next one and I am happily recommend this to young adults or older readers that love fantasy. But since this book’s genre is YA and maybe some of you will give this book to your younger children, let me tell you this. This book contain swearings, dirty jokes, and sexual acts ( not to the point of having sex ) that may not be suitable for younger readers. But if you are old enough for it, then this book is definitely for you. So, mark your calendar! It will release on June 10th 2014!
“And how do you know that? Just because you don’t kknow how to use your magic doesn’t mean it’s not there” —Bishop

“And I know that this memory will be forever burned into my brain, bacause this kind of magic— the kind that cant be conjured with spell, where everything is just right, and all your problems vanish for three perfect minutes— doesn’t happen everyday” — Indigo Blackwood

The plot sounds good, but the cover looks amazing! I haven't read many books where the popular girl is the heroine.

By the way, I’ve nominated you for the Dardo and Liebster Awards.

Hmm... Bishop is okay... I'm currently reading it now, but I'm glad you enjoy it! Although to me, Indie doesn't seem to be too popular. Maybe it's more of her and Bianca, that's why. :)
